Let the party never end 2026 special - The glenlivet 12

2025 ended with a bang for me. Each year I make some resolutions and review the progress on them on the night of the 31st. Then I tell myself, "this year wasn't as bad as I thought it would be at the starting" and the pessimist in me smiles a little at my own joke. I always live by the army phrase -
"Hope for the best but prepare for the worst". If that makes me a pessimist, so be it.

Going into 2026, my gratitude remains all the same, it might have even increased. Hope has been simmering and my own confidence in self is glimmering. 2025 was a year of facing the consequences of my actions. And what I learnt from it - I can live my life with my head held high, which is more than I can say for anyone else. Hard work never ends, and in my life the moment I stop working hard, I stop living. The pain makes me alive, the pain makes me special. Never shy away from pain. Embrace it, welcome it, fucking let it run through your veins !

Let's now talk about the beauties I ended my 2025 - the Glenlivet 12 - My fourth favourite whiskey after Genfiddich 12.
To put in in context with my earlier reviews, it's not as artisanal as the glenfiddich, nor is it as explosive as the black label, it is more like drinking a fine wine than scotch. If you like lighter notes and are a newbie to the scotch whiskey world, this is a good introductory single malt for you.

The glenlivet 12 sits on the fruity side of the taste profile in the world of the scotches. It's very sweet, very fruity and there is not even a hint of peat or smoke. So, for the first timers, who have been scared of whiskies, this should be your go-to drink. It costs around Rs. 6000 in Gurugram and around Rs 7000 in Delhi.
People graduating from cheap Vodkas or rums will find it worth the investment.

Tasting notes -

Nose - Sweet, fruity and very light pepper

Palate - Sweet, very sweet, then other flavours start coming up especially pears. Due to such light flavours alcohol also hits you but you tend to ignore that and dig deeper by the time you finish your first drink.

Mouthfeel - Watery. Diluting with water in 1:1 ratio does add a velvety touch to the drink but I liked it without any dilution

Finish - Sweet apples and peppery middle but not as peppery as the Indri Trini.

Overall, it remains light, fruity and quite enjoyable when you want to enjoy the company more than the drink. But does that make it a bad drink? Absolutely not. It can be enjoyed by everyone and almost on every occasion. That's the beauty of it. My friend already loves it because she doesn't like peaty notes. As far as I am concerned, this whiskey reminded me that scotches can be enjoyed even on a good weekday. I had 3 small drinks but it barely made any dent the next morning, it's that good !

But why is it then 4th on my list?
Because you can't enjoy it alone. Now, it's an oxymoron when I say that you can't enjoy this drink alone because drinking per se, is a social activity. What I mean when I say you can't enjoy it alone is that you never get past the sweetness to actually enjoy the body of the whiskey which is really a shame. I'd love it to drink it at my friend's house or during a house party but will I ever reach for it when I am alone, sitting with my thoughts and immersed in deep philosophy? Perhaps never. It's a great single malt, no doubt about it but I like my liquor more complexed. Sweetness can't match the complexity of the flavour profiles that bitters do. The bitter profile is an acquired taste. Even I would run away from the bitter profile 10 years ago. But slowly, through American coffee, 'the folgers' I understood the myriad flavours that exist beyond the initial bitterness. Sweet flavour profile is always linear and mostly flat especially when you add sugar artificially. That's why your virgin mojito almost never tastes good in a cafe. I can't remember the last time I had sugar. I had given up sugar naturally a long, long time ago despite growing up on that dirty shit - nescafe, which has the audacity to call itself coffee! It's a flavouring agent like Bournvita for milk! And speaking of milk, I don't think I have ever put milk in Folgers. And I can guarantee you that my homemade Americano beats Starbucks coffee everyday of the week and twice on Sunday, but only if you enjoy bitter flavour profile.
Bitter whiskies similarly, offer a crisp note to them. A lingering aftertaste that automatically cleanses your palate. But this whiskey, the glenlivet 12, which is intentionally sweet and fruity, lags behind in precisely that department - the complexity. It's unusually flat. I'd love to give it more tries in the coming days and if I ever change my opinions, I'll update on this blog but for now, it remains a good whiskey, not great. Will I buy one again? Oh absolutely. It's a must-have on your shelf. First timers will love it, those who are looking to let the conversation be the highlight of their evening will romanticise it and those who are pensive like myself will enjoy the break!

So that was that about the whiskey, but what about the party? Well, my new year party, unlike everyone else, commenced yesterday on 1st January 2026. I am not a party animal but I do like a little, warm, cozy gathering of the people I love. It's a nice thing about growing up - you know what you like and what you dislike and you become unapologetic about it. I am never the one to impose myself on others but over a period of time, I have come to be surrounded by few selected people who respect my boundaries and my wishes, as much I respect theirs. We respect restraint and appreciate each other's maturity. I had made a conscious decision to be away from all social media in 2021 and I can tell you with 100% conviction - that's the best decision I had ever made. My friend understands this and though she's forever on Instagram, she makes it a point never to invade my personal space by putting any of my photos online. It's very rare to find genuine, selfless respect from a person. People outgrow you and they stop respecting you, sometimes even degrade you, but to find a person who not only reciprocates but also goes over and beyond to shower respect, admiration and appreciation, which only grows as the time passes is truly rare. So for this person I deemed it my honour of sharing the Glenlivet 12 on the night of 1st January 2026! We drank, talked the entire night and had a few laughs before watching my favourite series on Apple TV these days. In hindsight, that wasn't the best of decisions because now she knows I have a HUGE HUGE CRUSH on Hannah Waddingham!

My god, that lady blows over me. I have actually never felt like that with anyone. My insides coil up, heart starts to race, pupils dilate and face starts to flush whenever I watch her. She must be 55 now but boy oh boy, how she stops my world whenever she enters into a scene. I never understood what crushes actually mean before I saw hannah waddingham. My friend saw all this and has never stopped yelling "SHAME! SHAME! SHAME!" ever since!

I hope you too find the most amazing company and you be the best of yourself for others in 2026!

See you soon!

The best drink (Cocktail) for winters!

Have you seen the levels of pollution lately? I went up in the Himalayas recently for a small trip but the pollution levels even in the hills were above normal. The entire country is facing this existential threat of pollution it seems. While Delhi used to be an outlier a decade ago in terms of pollution numbers, it is now one among many cities that battle air pollution each winter. 'Battling' might not be the right word here because there's actually no battle. We just witness pollution killing our children and poisoning our elders but we don't do anything about it. The solutions you ask? They are  simple really -

1) Fucking plant trees! Build a green wall around each city and create green buffer areas between habitations and industries to trap atleast those pollutants which settle on to the ground.

2) More waste treatment plants to avoid open waste burning. Just needs strong implementation and willpower.

3) Promote walking and cycling, and build roads to integrate, assimilate and initiate walking culture among the lazy Indians.

But alas! people really don't want to do anything about it. And hence, the obfuscation and the disruption strategies by people in power. Confuse the public, tangle them in bureaucratic quagmire and avoid all accountability!

Anyways, like always, I digress. This post is not a rant! It's a feel good post. Since, everyone I know is suffering from a cold or a related ailment, I have invented a new winter drink that cures the cold in an instant! (Yes, this is my eureka moment lol )

LO and BEHOLD -

THE WINTER APPLE ELIXIR by yours truly

1) Take 1 apple and thinly slice all of it

2) Take 1L water in a pan and add the apple slices

3) Add 1 whole clove (laung), 1.5 cm long cinnamon stick (dalchini) and a pinch of salt.

4) Bring the concoction to a boil and then let it simmer for 5-10 mins.

5) Once it cools down, blend everything in a juicer and strain it if you want a smooth drink. I like fibre so I avoid straining.

6) Now comes the best part - Add a little bit of whiskey/brandy (I prefer full 30 ml) and mix well.

7) Let the drink settle down for a minute and then enjoy a hot, rejuvenating cup of the best winter drink you'll have in your life! This will cure your cold, get you warm and most importantly, remind you to enjoy the little things in life!

Nuggets of wisdom -

1) If you are using whiskey, use small amounts first. Try with only 2 spoonfuls first and then keep adding until you get that balance right.

2) If you're using brandy, then go for cognac. My personal favourite is Napolean cognac. The fruity aroma from grapes and the body of cognac, elevate the apple concoction.

3) Mildly squeeze a few drops of orange zest to elevate the drink even further. Not only will it balance the sweetness of apples but it will also reduce the bitterness of alcohol.

4) Apple, being a natural digestive system cleanser, this drink will really improve your digestion. So that's an added benefit.

This drink is like one of those warm, fuzzy, happy memories of childhood where you felt secure and comfortable. It stops the time for you for one full cup of this drink. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Glenfiddich 12 and Black label

I recently had an opportunity to open a bottle of this beautiful Glenfiddich 12 while celebrating and though I am more of a black label aficionado, I was pleasantly surprised by the tasting profile offered by this exquisite beauty.

My go to drink is black label, 'on the rocks'. No dilution and if dilution is needed only in the ratio of 1:1 with plain water. It maintains that peaty note and the body of the spirit remains intact. That strong oak flavour on the nose is really what makes Black Label stand out. Each of the single malts in Black Label have been aged for 12 years minimum in Scotland and the robust flavour profile really shows that. You can smell the whiskies gone inside - the cardhu, which gives it that peaty profile, the smokiness comes for Caol Ila, Clynelish 14 gives it the fruitiness, that sparkle midtaste and that wood-vanilla flavour profile and finally the Glenkinchie. I am yet to come across a bottle of glenkinchie so I don't know what that does in Black Label.

Now coming to Glenfiddich, when I first tried it, I adopted a similar strategy. Diluted this single malt in a ratio of 3:1, kept on the palate for a few seconds and tried to take a whiff of all the oak and nuts during the aftertaste. I was disappointed. So much hype and for what? Glenlivet 12 had more body than it. But as my friend suggested, I was drinking it wrong. She poured me the drink undiluted and without any ice. For a moment there, I started questioning her sanity but she insisted. For the first time in my life I was drinking an alcohol at room temperature. I soon realised that I had done the ignominious act of wasting a fine whiskey in my previous drink. What I found -
- Nose : Fruity, apple and peaches are aplenty and a strong malty note
- Palate : Mild watery (which made sense why not to dilute), crisp, thin mouthfeel and overall very light.
-Flavour : Definitely vanilla, nutmeg, Apples, Oranges, Cardamom and a hint of wood but very mild
-Finish : Dried oak, vanilla, cinnamon.
Definitely a complex flavour profile. But the nose is stronger than palate which is really tricky. You'd be fooled to think it would go well with orchard fruit drinks like oranges but you'd only be wasting a fine whiskey. For every drink, I have a go to snack but for Glenfiddich 12, I really don't like to pair it with anything. This whiskey is an art. And it demands your full attention like you're standing in an art gallery and a painting compels you to think about it. An art which is beautiful in itself is good, an art which elicits compliments is great but an art which compels you to engage, look at it from your own perspective, relate with it, is the pinnacle of the civilisational consciousness. Some people do that with their paintings, some with their words and some with their wines. This elixir of an art-form demands a pause, a perspective and an engagement.

So here's to this artform in a bottle - Glenfiddich 12!

Public Service Announcement -

Drink responsibly. I am not a drinker by any means. I must have had alcohol this year after a gap of 8 years. And boy, how I have changed over those years! I could seriously drink around half a bottle of Black Label (And I have) and still show up at my hospital without a hair out of place. This time, 2 drinks (30 ml each) and I was already battling a nasty hangover for the next 2 days. Alcohol and my body don't gel with each other anymore.
Don't drink and drive.
It's a cardinal sin to indulge in intoxicating substances. No matter what the world tells you.
Don't drink to lose your senses. Drink to appreciate the art, drink to enjoy the fine luxuries of life. And those can only be enjoyed in very small amounts on rare occasions. Beers, cheap alcohols should be avoided. Cheap beers are the instagram reels of the wine world.

HOPE

 Hello everyone,

A very HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I'll be really short today. Each year brings new joys in our lives and we get a chance to rectify our mistakes and at times, build entirely new resolutions and connections. I personally feel immense gratitude to the people around me for being with me. I personally like to introspect at the end of each year, not to find faults but to appreciate the things I am grateful for.

This year what I am thankful for the most is HOPE. 2024 was a truly testing time for me but I powered through, showcasing immense resilience and mental strength that emanates from a place of security rather than pressure. There were times when I was at my breaking point, at one time I even got beat up pretty bad. But people around me showed faith in me when even I was unsure of whether I could keep the ship steady or not. This was a sign that all is not lost, that I should still have hope and not give up.

I forged new friendships that I know would last a lifetime and I strengthened the ones I already had by taking a leap of faith with them. I learnt new ideas and above everything, I found that I still have got the flexibility and adaptability. The things that were bothering me till November, I sort of won over them and miraculously, December turned out to be the best month of this entire year!

But as I said before, hope, is my takeaway for 2024. Hope keeps you going. It is what helps you get out of the bed in the morning and what lets you sleep peacefully at night. Hope is the manifestation of your resilience. It is your spiritual connection. It is simply that slight smile on your face after a long tiring day. Hope is everything!

And for my resolutions for 2025, they are quite simple - to be more ruthless, with myself. To be more mindful, of the things I do and the things I let in. To be more grateful, for this life and what I have and more importantly, what I don't.

So here's to hoping that 2025 will be filled with hope and endless possibilities!

With love and gratitude,

IHY :)

Of the intersecting lives

Hey there! How have you been? I am going to write this post as a diary. Perhaps a little self introspection would be beneficial for both of us. Among other things I often wonder what if our lives had never crossed paths with each other. Had it not been for that train journey, our trajectories were wildly different. I was engrossed with my own stuff while your plans were unknown to me. I found you intriguing, curiosity swept over me. I wanted to get to know you, and I took it as a challenge onto myself that I will get you to open up to me, almost everyone does, I have a trustworthy face. Do you regret not opening up to me? The end result is the same even now.

With some people you never feel anger towards them. She was one of them. Despite hurting me in more than a hundred ways, I never did feel angry at you. I can attribute it to your cuteness, your short height which makes you look younger than your age but I think the real reason remains that our paths were never meant to cross with each other. You were nothing but a distraction, a test for me, in which I failed rather spectacularly. It was a test of my newfound strength and a test of my resolve. It was the first real world practical after my training. Miserably failed and learned my lesson but it was a rather expensive lesson to be honest.

So having learnt my lesson now, I find that my worldview has become dichotomous. I am patient as well as really in a hurry, both at the same time. The numbers are not on my side but when have they been? My thoughts have been either 50 years too young or 50 years too old. See with this blog only. The art of writing is slowly dying. People may write for themselves but what sells and grabs the most eyeballs is vile, mundane, mass produced pieces of paragraphs, world would have been better without. A good writing piece or a novel for that matter, in my opinion, should give you perspective. It is in a short supply these days and mine has been clouded by repeated losses, one after the other. I desperately need a win. It was a lack of perspective that rendered me idea-less for blogs for a long time now. There were some sparks here and there but nothing good could come out of it.

- until next time, IHY

Unlocking Youth Empowerment through Skill Development in India

In the vast tapestry of India's demographic landscape, one vibrant thread stands out – its youth. With nearly half of its population under the age of 25, India possesses an enormous reservoir of untapped potential. This young population is not only a source of economic growth but also an incredible force for social change. To harness this potential, skill development is an imperative.

India stands at a crossroads, where its burgeoning youth population can either be an asset or a liability. The need for skill development is clear. Without it, the dreams and aspirations of millions of young Indians remain unrealized, contributing to unemployment and social unrest. While India's youth is often portrayed as a demographic dividend, it can easily become a demographic disaster if not provided with the skills to participate meaningfully in the economy. The consequences of neglecting this crucial aspect of development are manifold.

The challenges to youth empowerment through skill development in India are multi-faceted. First and foremost, the education system often emphasizes theoretical knowledge over practical skills. This results in a mismatch between what youth learn and what the job market demands. Many graduates find themselves unemployable due to this mismatch. Secondly, the lack of access to quality education and training, especially in rural areas, exacerbates the problem. The digital divide and uneven distribution of educational resources limit opportunities for many. Thirdly, the informal economy, which absorbs a significant portion of India's labor force, often does not recognize or value the skills of youth, leading to underemployment and poor working conditions.

If these challenges are not addressed, the future impact on India's youth can be grave. Rising frustration and a sense of alienation can lead to social unrest. Inability to secure decent employment can result in a wasted demographic dividend. Moreover, youth without skills face the risk of falling into poverty traps, perpetuating cycles of economic hardship. It is, therefore, imperative to empower the youth by providing them with the skills necessary to contribute effectively to the nation's development.

To tackle these challenges and empower India's youth, various measures have been undertaken. The Indian government has launched initiatives such as "Skill India" to provide skill training to millions of young people. Vocational education and training programs are being expanded, aiming to bridge the gap between education and employment. Additionally, public-private partnerships are being encouraged to enhance the reach and quality of skill development programs. These efforts have begun to show positive results, with an increasing number of youths gaining employable skills.

The link between education and skill development is profound, representing more than just a path to employment. It embodies a philosophical dimension – the idea that education should not merely be the acquisition of knowledge but also the cultivation of practical abilities. As Swami Vivekananda once said, "Education is the manifestation of the perfection already in man." It emphasizes the notion that every individual possesses unique talents and potential that can be realized through the right education and skill development. It is not about fitting young minds into pre-existing moulds but allowing them to explore their inherent capacities.
In conclusion, skill development is not just about employability; it is about empowerment and realizing the potential of a nation's youth. In India, where a significant portion of the population is young, investing in skill development is a strategic imperative. As Mahatma Gandhi aptly noted, "Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever." This profound wisdom underscores the significance of continuous learning and skill development in human life. Skill development is not a destination but a journey toward self-improvement, employability, and empowerment. To ensure that India's youth can live up to their potential, it is not just an economic necessity but a moral obligation to invest in skill development.

Are American problems our problems?

Black lives matter, LGBTQ+, Gun violence, capitol hill seige, MeToo, Jeffery Epstein - I seem to know more about America's problems than ours. Why is that? I am not the one too active on social media nor do I particularly look out for American news. The Indian public discourse is the one to blame. We are being fed American news so much that our own problems seem to have obscured by the seemingly first world problems. Just imagine the stupidity of all this - a country whose 30% population still lives in poverty, whose average road network is still worse than that of Vietnam is talking about BLM on its national news. In a country where majority of youths are dissatisfied with their employment or lack thereof and depression coupled with identity crisis is rampant, we are talking about LGBTQ in our editorials. At the risk of sounding transphobic - I fucking do not care whether a tans person has been called a hijhda by their neighbourhood uncle/aunty. Deal with it ! Our politicians are so mad they will give reservations to trans people if this discourse keeps on going like this.

There has to be some end to the stupidity of journalists who decide the public discourse. The Delhi Infrastructure is collapsing but there has been no news of it anywhere. We are just fed the Hindu vs Muslim , much on the lines of liberal vs democrat debate in US. The vile and poisonous public discourse is a boon for politicians who have it easy. They Win even local body elections not on the merits of their groundwork but on the perception war fuelled by communal and religious hatred. How does it matter to a remote village in Madhya Pradesh which is dealing with water shortage on what views does an MP from bengal have on Maa Kali? Ofcourse they must voice their dissatisfaction if they're hurt by her immature comments but please explain for once how can this become the entire agenda of an election when more pressing matters are screaming for attention.

This irony gets to me sometimes. On one hand we want the best professionals with fanciest degrees as the ones providing us services and simultaneously we get befooled so easily by the outright white lies and ridiculous promises like Rs 1500/month and free electricity. Where does the economic sense of people go when Delhi government continues taking out full page ads on fucking non issues, 3 minute television ads on every news channel during the primetime that too and wastes public money to the tune of thousands of crores. This is in a sense buying the silence of media houses on criticism. Whereas even minute details are being asked on policies from union ministers by the super intelligent tv anchors, why do they dumb themselves down when interviewing Mamta or kejri? These media houses are drowning in money yet they keep begging for subscription. And you have to really give it to the news anchors for they have mastered the art of verbal diarrhea - The art of incessant shouting and not even getting a single point across. And yet these bloody halfwits have more power than you or me to get things done.

Ah these ironies never end.

Anyhow, thanks for reading. And if you think I am transphobic, then no I am not. I watch lesbian porn.

Are you the superstitious one?

Hey there! Been a long time since I wrote anything here. But that's mainly because I had nothing to say. With whatever's been going on in the country and so many bloggers cropping up, everyone has an opinion these days, and no one wants to listen. In addition, I think people have progressed to youtube and video content and writing is a dying style of communication. Maybe ours will be the last generation of actual bloggers. I don't think blog spaces will find that many visitors, so naturally revenue through ads shall decline. One exception shall remain - news blogs and health websites.

Anyways, how has your life been post lockdowns? Mine has been topsy turvy. When hasn't it been? But the last 4 months stood out. I was dealing with one problem after another. It was horrendous as well as marvellous. I broke boundaries I thought I never could. But still I don't feel accomplished enough. It's a long way to go, I know but still I should feel at least some pride in my achievements (personal). Maybe because I am a perfectionist and belong to a middle class family, I am hardwired to only celebrate after crossing the finish line and then jump on to the next target. I know I have written this in very vague terms but it's for the best.

In these last 4 months while I was dealing with my problems I began to sense a change in myself. I had become quite superstitious. I always revelled in the fact that I have a rational mindset and believed myself to be of a headstrong personality. So becoming superstitious all of a sudden was surprising. Was it a symptom? Or was I becoming weak? After months of deliberation I found my answer here on blogger. I created an anonymous blog, without any photo or revealing my identity. I thought anonymity was a super power on internet highway. But in the hindsight I think this anonymity was a shroud to cover up the fact that I was superstitious from the very beginning. I don't post my pictures on social media or flaunt anything, majorly to avoid any jealousy and if you believe in this - Bad eye!

It's funny how you make stuff up to convince yourself or a better word is - deceive yourself into thinking that your actions are momentary, when in fact, each of your action is a result of your years of hard-wiring and habits. I will try to post more here now that I have some spare time on my hands.

The Boredom of Vacation

It's been ages since I have written anything. Partly due to my job profile, it leaves little wiggle room for creativity and partly because of all the cacophony surrounding us these days. I am back in Delhi for good and I literally had a tough time adjusting back here. All the noise, pollution, unhygienic conditions and people, well, they're just mean. It seems strange this is my hometown. I am in between some transitions in my life and as such had an opportunity to relax after toiling endlessly for the past 2 years. You can call it an extended vacation. I thought I'll catch up with some old friends in this time but you know the covid situation. What's even there to discuss anyways? People keep coming and going, what's even the point of staying in touch? I may sound depressed but it's really more of my boredom. I am just not into anything these days in my vacation time. I take pride in being highly creative. I can fix car on my own, do minor electrician/plumber/carpenter stuff and more than that I revel in the artistic pleasure of handmade functional objects. I just love to create. If you build something on your own for example let's say even a small wheel, you'll then be able to appreciate the fact that a lot of effort and mind has been put to good use in the manufacture of that object. You must have seen bevel in woodworks. A seemingly simple and elegant looking edge that needs no second look. You'll be surprised to learn that it takes a mind boggling effort to create such a straight edge.

Bevel used in carpentry
I learnt this through my studies of dentistry. The art of dentistry lies in amalgamation of not just medicine but engineering, material sciences , carpentry, metallurgy and even tailoring. It takes a deep knowledge of all these fields to become a good dentist. Surprised?

Well, the artificial tooth is made up of ceramic over a metallic base. So there goes your metallurgy and material science. How to put it on is engineering. How it will react with surrounding tissues is medicine. If you have to remove some tissue you'll need to do some surgery and you;ll have to close the wound by applying some stitches which are

uncannily similar to tailoring. Not everyone, even with a qualified degree is able to comprehend and have a perception as to how intricate this field of dentistry really is.

That's my whole point. Everything which barely looks complicated at the surface, is so damn complex, it just amazes me how far the human civilisation has come. Someone, sometime had developed an idea that ok I'll just not stick a wheel on a simple rod, instead I'll make a ball bearing first which will then attach to the wheel. Seemingly simple when you look at any car/bike/bicycle wheel but what a great and marvellous piece of invention that is the "bearing"

So I guess that's it for the time being. I hope you didn't get bored listening to one guy go on and on about how simple is really complex!

Avengers : Infinity war is a disaster

I have just been back from the show of Avengers Infinity war and I have some scathing words for this movie. WARNING : SPOILERS AHEAD

I like to consider myself a moderate marvel fan. Because inconsistency in marvel universe quite evident with movies like thor: the dark world, guardians of galaxy biting the dust for good. But things took a serious turn for me after Thor: Ragnarok and Black Panther. Absolutely fantastic movies that were the silver linings of 2017 and 2018 respectively. Infinity war was supposed to move the golden run forward but it just came crashing down on my expectations.

There are a multitude of things wrong with this movie but the biggest thing that was wrong with this movie was THANOS. Yes, the villain. He was the main weak link in the movie. Thanos is an underrated and under depicted character in this movie. A big blue hulk wearing a golden glove is what is served as the tormentor of Tony Stark since the events of New York. His voice is menacing but his features are soft. His serrated chin reminds me of WWE wrestlers who ultimately come out to be the good guys. But is he supposed to be a good guy? He has been pounded with all sorts of adjectives ranging from "devour-er of the worlds to madman". But we get a scene too where we see tears in his eyes. Are we supposed to feel his pain? And generate a misdirected affection for him. I don't think the directors were wanting to go there but unfortunately, they did. His dialogues do not complement his gigantic stature and his menacing voice. He feels rather timid for such a terrifying character.

Thanos is fighting each and every avenger in this movie in one scene or the other. He beats the hulk, kills loki like bottle gourd and petrifies Thor. And so do his children. Who dwell on enormous power and have excellent training in krav maga. They try to build up a narrative for thanos but are interrupted by ill-timed one liners from the ensemble cast. They don't get beaten up by a concoction of dr. strange, Iron man, spider man and bruce banner. If they could one Thanos' child Ebony Maw could have his own super villain movie dedicated to him for he makes cars fly at the flick of his finger. Such a marvellous villain dying from just being sucked into outer space.

corvus glaive
Coming to the outer space, although Ebony Maw froze to death in outer space, thor manages to survive cold and heat alike. A bit weird, no?? Well, everything going on with thor is weird. In Ragnarok it is evident that he learns how powerful he is and he doesn't need his hammer. As evident by the epic dialogue " Are you the God of hammer"? But in Avengers, his love for hammer is back and he feels rather timid facing enemies without his weapon. The new weapon he forges, gives him some additional power somehow. Like it's a sale season going on. Shop with you mastercard and avail 15% more discount. It's a mess. The directors forgot the basic essence of each and every character in this movie.

Black panther is undermined by his protective detail "Okoye". Such a fantastic character and a brilliant actor "chadwick boseman" is under utilised in this movie. Captain America gets a shield in shape of a leaf. He looks sexy in beard, fit for action but lack of his trademark shield is evident. You keep waiting for more of him throughout the movie. Actually you keep wanting more of every character in this movie but it never happens. The movie never evolves to something bigger. Just a cat fight between thugs and mall cops. You wish to see tony stark with his swanky gadgets and new technology but what do you get instead? A nanotechnoogy based suit. That somehow lasts for an eternity. Vision with the voive of Jarvis who showed some brilliant moves in age of ultron, limps throughout this movie. He doesn't even get a heroic death he deserved. Black widow, Col rhodes, flying man sam wilson, wanda, bucky all appear as a bunch of extras. No significant screen time or role. Peter Quill played by Chris Pratt is immature and irritating. His jokes are repetitive and maddening. Chris Pratt never feels comfortable in the skin of his character.

It's not as if the movie doesn't have its moments. It does. And great ones too. Like when Thor descends back to Earth to fight off Thanos' army when everyone else is being beaten pulp. He makes a magnificent entry. The whole crowd erupted in cheer as Thor plummeted the army with his new axe. 20 seconds later, it gets cut off and we again hear the same monotonous Thanos. Or his uninspiring and frankly boring fight with iron man and dr. strange. The fight looks so unreal that you just start yawning. Iron man survives when he is hit by a MOON. Yeah , you read it right a MOON! Like really?? The guy couldn't even lift sokovia himself in age of ultron. Fights seem more like mindless violence. Thanos army more like mutant lizards from a video game. 3D effects are dismal. Story line sucks. It doesn't even make any sense. We had Dr, Selvig who created a reactor with tesseract at its core to open up another dimension in the first avengers movie. But here dimensions get opened up at the drop of a hat. No scientific explanation, no logic. Felt like a bollywood masala movie.

Overall it was a big step down from the standards of a marvel movie. As a cinematic experience and as a story too. The movie lacked depth and characters were used more as props rather than beings. You never bond with any of the character. You never feel for them. Never connect with them. The Russo brothers directed both the captain america : The Winter Soldier And The Civil War, which are my least favourite marvel movies. Their confusion, lack of depth of characters, lack of emotions and cluttered direction has destroyed what could have been the greatest marvel movie ever.

P.S- There is no HULK in the movie. Poster makes a fool out of you. Bruce Banner gets Erectile Dysfunction And Can't Get it Up. Bruce banner is unable to turn into Hulk.

What works for the movie?
A script for tomfoolery in the second avengers movie.

The Absence of happiness

A cloud of uncertainty hovers over me

Larger and larger it grows

Fed by the absence

It reaches out to hold me

It’s tentacles tightly wrapping around my chest

Squeezing, minute by minute, day by day

And it lifts me up

To an unending world

Where truth holds no power

Courage has no meaning

Body has no soul

And I perish away, like I never existed
Larger and larger it grew

ROYAL ENFIELD BULLET : A DREAM YOU DON’T WANT ?

The legacy of royal enfield is no doubt the bullet. A bike which is bigger than the brand itself. My first impressions of bullet were Jats, haryanvis and punjabi punks owning one. They had these annoying modified silencers which were exactly opposite of what they were meant to do. Increased the rough sound of air leaving the exhaust. That classic thump of bullet became an irritating noise. As time grew, I started to hate the bullet more and more.  Why?

1) It’s slow.  Indeed it is. I own an Yamaha FZ and although it’s not supposed to be a fast bike, it’s still faster than bullet.

2) It’s heavy. With a weight north of 190 kg, it is fucking heavy.

3) It’s too loud. I want my bikes to be discreet.

4) It’s unreliable.

5) It’s over rated.

BUT IS IT?

I got a bullet of my own. It’s a long, sad story which warrants a separate post for itself. Just to make it clear, I did not buy it. It was sort of a gift. And no it wasn’t stolen. It’s the classic 500 in tan colour and looking at it is delightful. I am filled with a slight charm whenever I see my bike. The sturdiness, the  shape of headlight, curves from 1950s, all reminiscent of post war era, it’s not a feeling I can describe in words.

But that’s it. Looks only. I hated the thought of driving it. It’s an inefficient machine that has been glamourised mostly by testosterone deficient males who have tried to supplement their protruding bellies and greying hair with a bike slow and inefficient much like them.

I have compiled here a list of problems I have had with it ever since I got my hands on it. And this is only a period of 3 weeks, I am talking here.

1) It’s a 2017 classic 500 twinspark EFI model which had done 350  kms barely in one year. I brought it with me here to Delhi and it’s been with me for only 3 weeks but the problems with bike do not seem to cease at all. The first major problem was the fuse. The fuse blew twice within 2 weeks. Cheap electricals? I think too complicated electricals.

2) Handle jammed up. It may have been due to tyre pressure but in my case I found it due to lack of proper lubrication in the handle joint. It’s been one year since it was serviced and I shouldn’t blame the company. But I have Yamaha FZ and it has never shown such unreliability.

3) After 150 km long trip the bike gave out. It started missing on low revs. Throttle response decreased. Due to engine overheating? Maybe.

4) Poor service. Normal mechanics do not even touch bullet. So you have to find a bullet specialist and that’s a huge problem if you’re stuck in a remote location.

5) Vibrations. Bullet vibrates a hell lot. So much that you won’t be even to make out anything of the rear view mirrors if you have them. After 90 km/hr bullet handle vibrates precariously.

6) The seat although feel comfortable but after a long ride I am pretty sure your tail bone is going to hurt. On my FZ, my thighs and shoulders hurt. What would you rather have hurt? Tailbone or other parts of the spine?

7) At high speeds, you feel air drag. It becomes so much that you sometimes feel like you’ll fall off from bike. So poor aerodynamics.

These are my first hand problems of bullet. But what I am about to say is nothing short of crazy.

I am in love with the BULLET.

It’s true. With all these problems and years of hatred has somehow just converted into a respect and love for the machine all on its own. The clanking of metal when you first power up your ride, coincides with the beating of your heart.  Dhak- dhak-dhak. The metal feel , the sturdiness, the retro look....you’re not riding a bike, you’re riding THE BULLET. And you can only understand it once you’ve driven the bike for yourself. You don't care about speed, you don't care about mileage. In fact you don't care about anything in this world. You're the free bird while riding the bull.
They say bullet is a bike that doesn’t love you back. I think bullet is a princess that needs caressing for time and again, and it shows you its love when you’re cruising on a long highway where the man and his bike become one. When you’re all alone but the magic of bullet is such that you want to be alone. It gives you that freedom, that sense of a getaway, a sense of respect which is called ROYAL ENFIELD BULLET.

In The Mind Of An Intellectual

This word Intellectual used to mean something to me. A person to look upto. Like Dr. Adrian in the movie 2012. A visionary who could see what anybody else couldn't. A rationalist who can connect the dots when no one else can. Someone who doesn't run with the horde, doesn't follow blindly or best of them all, someone who learns from the mistakes of the others I think is the most intelligent fellow among us.

But sadly, in these days an intellectual person is not someone who posses all these qualities, he's the one labelled as such by his peers. So, you might be an ass for all we know but you're counted among intellectuals because people have labelled you as such. One such example that we all see these days is the labelling of average, hippie journalists and bunch of naysayers as intellectuals. One such so called intellectual was murdered last week - Gauri Shankar. And how her death has fanned an opposition fire over the safety of 'intellectuals' is mind boggling. Right wing has been labelled as murderer even without an investigation. And who has called them murderers? Yes you guessed it right, the Intellectuals! Just imagine the irony!

I am a little baffled by how all these intellectuals in today's times are leftists or those who support left ideology. I make a mistake. These people don't even know what left means. They are just opposing the BJP, so they just use the antonym. So, it's baffling to see how all the intellectuals in times of today are BJP antagonists. They are not people mind you, the indian media has labelled them as think tanks, Intellectuals, free thinkers. So much for free thinking when you're harbouring such venom for right wing..so much for the intellect when you level baseless allegations against your own government without even giving it a second thought. It's a real travesty of democratic freedom that such bigots are given air time on national tv.

By the way do you think someone who has a good command over english language an intellectual? I have come across some really nasty people who have a superiority complex just because in all their life their whole achievement was to read some novels and write a few articles in english. It feels good to have a decent command of the language, a beautifully crafted speech that sways the public, like Mark Antony in Julius Caesar. So, do you think it's necessary to use big, bold words and flowery language to make an impact? I honestly feel that when you have actually something worthwhile to say you don't require the help of unusual words. Use of unconventional language may make it difficult for people to understand what you're saying and of course it is open to interpretation. But who will tell these intellectuals this thing. They take pride when commoners like us aren't able to understand what they're saying.

This bunch of intellectuals is self proclaimed. They do not amount to anything in their life but feel they are above the average people. Most of them are arts students. I wonder what they have done to warrant such attitude in their life. It must be a defense mechanism to make up for the arts course they are in. Like people with shallow confidence try to make up for it by behaving in an angry fashion like jats. Whatever this is, these people are going to be future barkha dutts and gauri shankars and sagarika ghoshs of India and it pains me to see that their only skill which is to read and give opinions in english language is just going to be used in petty politics to bicker at one another. They could also write diaper advertisements in mom blogs if they're ever out of work.

So I am getting LAID pretty often and life is bright and shiny \o/

MY LIFE IS HELL. Long distance relationship it is. So forget about getting laid. The only sex we both have is oral. I pick up the phone and say fuck you, she says fuck you too  back to me *sigh*
So, we end up on talking on phone for more than 2 hours a day and it leaves me no time to get depressed and get my creative juices flowing :-(

Well, I want to write a full post about how my girlfriend is, but I have found a video on youtube that sums it up for me pretty well.

Carving their way into DU now as well

The recent events at Ramjas college pertaining to Umar Khalid can be best described as unfortunate. But is that the reality or has the truth been moulded and dissevered again by India’s highly intellectual journalists who are the sole flagbearers of torch of democracy ? Has the whole truth come out or has the truth been misconstrued again to serve a group of people?

Dissent is the very soul of democracy. Protest in democracy is not unheard of. It is this freedom to protest that makes us unique. So why is ABVP’s protest being termed as ‘murder of democracy’? Is that because it turned violent? Like it’s the first time when a protest has turned violent, right? Media intellects have maintained freedom of expression has been violated. I agree. Freedom of expression is violated when you air ‘anti-national views’ on your channels for days altogether and do not give a fair chance for the right people to voice their concerns. Imagine the plight of that poor soul whose heart is in the right place but he is called names and brandished as ‘bhakt’ for being the only one supporting the truth. Even after shouting, screaming and even exposing these antinationals in our country, your voice remains unheard. Lies triumph over truth, opinions prevail over reason, logic and reason is butchered in the name of freedom that is when democracy gets murdered. When being right doesn’t matter, that is when freedom of expression is violated. It’s not just about stopping a single person from giving speech or denying him entry, it’s about the disappointment, the frustration and dismay in our society’s acumen who make hero of people like Khalid. It’s the very idea of people like him roaming free, people who use pens instead of bombs that threaten to divide the very unity of this country, that hangs my head in shame when I see them being projected as the embodiment of freedom of speech. Give them platform to pollute young minds ? Give them freedom to spread poison among the unscrupulous and innocent university students who just think this is a fight for right of free speech?  So what did you expect? Sane people should just have their hands clasped together and warm their chairs? No sir, they protest. They protest to wake up people to this unprecedented evil. They protest to awaken people to open their eyes to reason and logic. They protest to expose the lies, the greed and lust.

And one day people will see the truth. They will see clearly that they have become part of such an uncanny tyranny that uses them as foot soldiers at their pleasure. People will see that they’ve been tricked into believing that it’s a fight for their right when in reality it’s a fight for someone else’s malicious agendas. It’s not just about freedom of speech anymore. It’s a revolution, against the media hounds, the anti-nationals , the intellectual bombs living amongst us, who have created a mockery of our reason and judgement  by disguising their anti national views under the garb of freedom of speech. They’ve been quick at capitalising at our mistakes and our busy-ness. We are resilient by force, not by choice. This recent incidence denotes exactly that . The frustration and helplessness of true Indians who can’t see the voice of reason being trampled everyday by such scrupulous minds. They have had it far too easy for far too long.

Some facts

-Humans are the only animals who depend on other humans for food

-Facts shown in news don't matter.

-These days it's rare to find facts on news.

-We've been led to believe the more we have, the better we are.

-Humans are the animals that have the most impact on their surrounding environment

-We consider ourselves intelligent but truth be told, we are not much different from other animals. We continue to grow at the expense of our environment and other species.

-Natural selection doesn't work amongst humans anymore.

-All humans aren't gifted with same mind.

-Stressed spelled backwards is dessert

India is not going crazy

Much has been already said about the recent events which have, I think, really affected all of us on some level be it positively or negatively and much more is yet to come. And amidst this chaos I find cynicism, vengeance, vendetta, hypocrisy disguised as plain stupidity of self styled moral keepers of the society. Everybody is telling everybody else how to live, how to act . That is what happens when you let moral policing get out of hand. Congress advocating its views on RSS and BJP further copyright-ing its stand on Nationalism. But it's nothing new. aevrybody likes to preach. Things get out of hand when people who like to preach form large groups. It's a fashion these days to hold protests and hold the city to ransom. And these protests may seem chaotic but actually it's more of 'organised chaos'

Let me give you a brief recap  -
1)The Nirbhaya march
2) The Anna Hazare movement
3) Modi Wave
4) Intolerance
5) Nationalism
6) Jat reservation

These are a few from the long list which garnered nation wide attention. And all these were inappropriately handled by the former UPA government and current NDA government alike.

The action of students at JNU campus were act of children. Children I insist and they should have been dealt like that. Make them sit down, hear what they have to say, why do they feel victimised. And once you've understood their psyche, it will take a few kind words only to let them feel loved again and soon they will love their country again. .  Just a few kind words. Not lathis, batons, or arrests. Let them know that they are being heard and it will work wonders. They, if you look at it closely, represent their families, societies they are part of. So most of them might be reiterating what goes on in their homes. So imagine the impact of opening even one of these students to truth - He will influence his family/society in long run.
Words have more power than bullets. Despite being a nation of so many elders, I find it surprising why no one has done it yet. Accusations, blames, name-calling is going on and will go on forever but if political parties really wanted a solution then somebody from either side should have sounded the bugle of sensibility. Intelligence, and more importantly the 'intelligent', I tell you aren't lost in the cacophony.

As far as issue of reservation is concerned, the government has set a very bad precedence- Just hold the whole state hostage and the government will listen to you. Well, no points for originality on that idea because everytime, a candle march is needed to make the government hear you. A very dangerous cocktail this is- Deaf government and defiant citizens.

But at the end of the day, when all the voices have died down, all the abuses that flew from all the corners of the country have been paused for the next day and you feel cynical about the people of this country, know this that it's a moment of defining and deliniating the path of this nation. We are at a learning curve and these incidents will go a long way in defining what India will become in next 50 or 60 years. And the best part is- it can become anything but there will always be a guarantee that you will find debates, dissent and democracy in our country.
Not bad for a country that hallmarks the 'Unity in diversity' slogan.

I AM NOT INDIAN

I am a muslim. I declare my god as supreme and other's god as just a puppet of a story. I can vandalise ,  I can make anti-national statements and I can start a whole riot if my demands aren’t met. Last year, with advent of Modi government I felt a little insecure about the rise of right wing politics. But Modi vowed to protect my rights at any costs. But my local MLA plus some big guns from other opposition parties told me otherwise. When the elections were due in Bihar, opposition said that there is an atmosphere of ‘intolerance’ in India. Although no untoward incident ever happened with me, I joined their chorus and rallied against the ruling party with utmost ferocity and vengeance. I heard about the Malda incident where it was said that Muslims were also at fault. But I don’t believe that at all. I refuse to comment on Malda incident. Let’s talk about Dadri lynching.

I am a Dalit. My parents are government servants and they make a decent salary. We have a nice little hatchback at home. I live in Delhi in a 1000 sq ft government bungalow located at the poshest place of delhi. I studied at the most prestigious school of Delhi. Now I am in IIT delhi. I scored less than my Brahmin friend. He lives in a lesser known part of Delhi in a 650 sq ft bungalow with his parents, grand parents and two sisters. His father is also employed in Govt sector but at a low post.  So he doesn’t own a car as of yet but I am sure their life is going smoothly I never hear them complain. He studies in NIT. He has to pay full fees of the course . Meanwhile, 50% of my fees has been remitted under Dalit schemes by government of India. I buy nike shoes and branded clothes and though times are hard, I still manage to scoop out a little money for that trendy haircut.

I am a dalit farmer. I don’t own any land. I work at someone else’s farm and he pays me just enough to feed my 4 children and wife. But it gets tough for me at the end of season because then I find it impossible to find any work. The school is located about 20kms from my village and it’s already running above its capacity. Besides I have 3 daughters. I had already married my eldest daughter when she was 10 and now we are waiting for her to turn 16 to send her to her ‘own’ home. My son gives me a helping hand in my work, so I really don’t see any point of sending him to school when he just has to work on farms like me. He should rather know about our business. I hear government is launching many schemes. One such is insurance cover. But the banker babu won’t even talk to me. He is always away and when rarely he comes to office, he keeps mostly to himself and have us kicked out. I hear my friend had successfully applied for the scheme but on the last step due to some missing document, he was denied the benefit of the scheme. With another scheme that entails my wife and daughter, I am entitled to some money for my daughter’s marriage. I have went many times to gram panchayat office but the secretary over there won’t enrol my name until I pay rs 5000 to him. The government is doing nothing for us Dalits. I feel powerless and helpless and have gone to opposition parties as well but they also don’t seem to have time for me. But when my friend committed suicide, everybody from congress president to even chief minister of Delhi came to our village and granted relief fund to his family. Sometimes, I also think that suicide is my only option. Atleast my death would ensure two square meals for my family.

I am a Hindu. I take a bus to work daily. I live in a small but decent house in a fairly large city. I manage to provide fairly good education to my two kids. My wife stays at home and like everybody else she has her demands. I try to make a few extra bucks on the side by working overtime and on some occasions I take a meagre bribe of Rs200. Atleast that way I can take my family for outings on weekends. I have to send a part of my income to my parents living in the village but that’s alright. We make a fairly decent living and have very little left as savings. Last year, my wife got ill. She had to undergo a minor operation but even that proved costly for us. I had to break my pension fund to provide for her medical assistance. I get hit really hard with increasing prices of petrol and pulses. But still I manage to scrape through the month somehow. I don’t feel the government is responsible for such condition of mine. I am myself responsible because may be I am not working hard enough. Sometimes I feel inadequate when I meet my old friends and see they have got fancy cars. But now nothing much can change. I am bound to this daily drudgery. This stagnancy in my life makes me depressed sometimes. But it won’t even matter to anyone if I live or die except for my family. They will suffer the most if I leave them midway. I fall prey to market frauds and Ponzi schemes easily, not because I am unintelligent but because I am desperate.  I feel my children have the future ahead of them and they can really turn things around if they study well. I want my son to study in IIT. I don’t criticise the government each day with a newspaper in hand but yes I feel that politicians have destroyed this country. I have thought of contributing to government’s scheme of giving up LPG subsidy but with my income it’s impossible to do so. At my workplace, we have muslim co-workers and they also seem to be facing similar issues. They are intelligent and well mannered. Most of all they all are really nice and helpful. I don’t ever feel insecure with them and neither they do with me. It’s not like we concoct up harmony, it’s just very normal. We don’t even feel there is a difference between us. I therefore find it difficult to digest the polarising comments made by different political parties. Safe to say, I reserve my comments on these topics and stay away from politics. I have to look after my house first.

We are muslims, Hindus, Sikhs, Dalits, Adivasi, tamilian, assamese, Punjabi, Sindhi. We doctors, lawyers, clerks afterwards. We are not INDIANS. We never were. Never will be.

EMAIL EXCHANGE WITH NESTLE

I wrote to nestle on maggi issue and well, I am atleast glad that they responded because in India nobody responds to email.
But I am not sure I am fully satisfied with their answer. Their answer is so twisted in words that I am not even sure I fully understand it.
Here’s the full conversation-

Sir/madam,
I have been following the events of the maggi fiasco and one thing i couldn't overlook was the fact that nestle had burnt packets of recalled maggi. It was in the headlines for quite some time. You reportedly spent around 30cr to burn maggi packets. That was just what i had read. Since this is a just general query and not any formal protest or something of that sort, I am not attaching any newspaper clipping with the email to back up my claim.
Nevertheless, i am inclined to know why did you burn those packets indeed if you claimed them to be safe?
Hope to you hear from you soon.

Dear Consumer,

Thank you for your email/query.

We would like to inform that we were asked by the regulator to recall the product and we have stopped selling it. In fact, before the order was issued, Nestlé India had announced it had stopped selling MAGGI Noodles. This is because concerns about the product led to confusion for the consumer to such an extent that Nestlé India felt it was necessary to take the product out of the market while we engage closely with the regulators and others to discuss the situation.

We have always maintained that MAGGI Noodles are safe based on more than 3500 tests conducted by Nestlé India. Moreover, Food Standards Authorities of USA, Canada, UK, Australia, & New Zealand and Singapore have also declared MAGGI safe for consumption.

Now, 100% samples of MAGGI Noodles have cleared additional tests for lead, done by the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) accredited labs in India, as ordered by the Hon'ble High Court of Bombay.

Test reports from the NABL accredited laboratories (https://www.maggi.in/result.aspx )
Testing done by Nestlé India (https://www.nestle.in/aboutus/ask-nestle/answers/maggi-noodles-india-test-results )

We are committed to the safety of MAGGI Noodles and assure you that MAGGI Noodles have always been safe and will continue to be so.

And to those wondering to whom else I emailed, it was Hindustan times who I don’t think open their emails at all. And McDonald’s who in my opinion should be flogged all the way back to America!

Here’s my email complaint to McDonald’s India-

Sir,
I want to bring to your kind attention the poorest of the poor quality of your products being served in your restaurants.
I bought McVeggie burgers today, which by the way are supposed to be your premium burgers but i was left aghast with what i had been served. Stale bun with oily patty and moreover the stale vegetables used inside the burger, i mean seriously who are you serving this for? And it's not the first time such thing is happening. The quality of Almost everything in your outlets has degraded substantially.
I think it's high time for you to reevaluate yourself and focus on the customer base you want to attract. But the meal served t today was absolutely un-eatable.
I have attached some pictures for your reference. And i am not complaining for today's incident only. This decline has been your trend from past several years. .
I hope McDonald's again reinstate their reputation by performing regular quality checks on every outlet.
---
Not heard from them till yet. It's been around 2-3 months.

Seriously, what junk are they serving to Indians? And what kind of people are we Indians are accepting and enjoying such junk? Maggi is flying off the shelves and McDonald’s chain is growing faster than ever. I think we are a bit too attached to everything. Especially the bad stuff. Maggi is back. So is Lalu. Just can’t believe that a convict in fodder scam is an elected representative. Hail Indians!

The true face of 'intolerance' debate

Amir khan, the brand ambassador for Incredible India, an avid social worker and a wise human being recently showed the true face of ‘intolerance’ debate going on and on and on, thanks to the sensational journalism by NDTV mostly.  The statement made by Mr. Khan emphasised specifically that intolerance has increased in last 6-7 months (time when BJP rose to power). And so has censorship.

It is painful and rather awful that such a wise person would make so immature statement just out of his political views. This whole ‘intolerance’ debate is a political one. I personally want to hit these journalists hard on their head because they mooch out just a statement, not the justification. The journalists should ask “How is India intolerant?” or "did Amir khan faced any trouble personally in last 6-7 months?" Such politically motivated statements are highly indecorous.

What happened to India being “INTOLERANT” when M F Hussain left this country during UPA rule? Or when Shiv Sena shut down Mumbai for one whole day and jailed those who protested online? Wasn’t that intolerant? I am flabbergasted to see people igniting this intolerance debate only just now.

The truth of the matter is, ever since the rise of BJP, first and foremost, many people had to close their shops who were thriving in congress rule. Plus, congress is being increasingly successful in projecting BJP not as pro-hindu but as anti-muslim. So, this whole ‘intolerance’ saga is more about tarnishing the image of BJP especially, PM Modi rather than any meaningful thought or discussion.

People are entitled to their opinions. We have been gifted with a nice brain as well. Time we use it to distinguish between what is right and what is fabricated. Hear everything but don’t believe everything.
